Mohamed, Amazigh guide from Marrocos Passeios

    About me

My name is Mohamed, I am Amazigh (Berber), and I come from a region where hospitality, traditions and respect for visitors are part of our identity. I grew up getting to know Moroccan culture up close, the customs of local communities and the stories that make each region of Morocco so special.

Over the years, my passion for meeting people and sharing the richness of my country led me to build my career in tourism. Working as a guide and organising trips, I realised that knowing Morocco goes far beyond visiting monuments and landscapes: it means discovering its culture, connecting with its people and living truly unique moments.

It was with this vision that Marrocos Passeios was born, a project created to offer private trips, personalised experiences and close, family-style service. My goal is for every traveller to discover Morocco in an authentic way, with comfort, confidence and freedom to enjoy every moment.

For me, every trip is an opportunity to share a little of our history, our roots and the hospitality that makes Morocco an unforgettable destination.

Route: Fes → Sahara Desert → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

    ITINERARY: 4 Days in Morocco

4 Days in Morocco from Fes

Day 1: Fes → Midelt → Erfoud → Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)

Our guide will pick you up from your riad/hotel in Fes at 8:00. We then set off for Midelt, crossing the Middle Atlas mountains. Along the way we pass Ifrane, known as the Moroccan Switzerland, and the Azrou cedar forest. After lunch in Midelt, we continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossils, before reaching the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner is served at the hotel in Merzouga, getting us ready for the desert adventure.

Day 2: Merzouga → Khamlia → Rissani → Erg Chebbi

After breakfast, we explore the Erg Chebbi dunes. We visit the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnawa music, and the Merzouga oasis with its ancient irrigation system. In Rissani we discover historic ksours and kasbahs. After a traditional lunch, we return to the hotel around 16:00 for the long-awaited camel ride to the golden dunes. The night is magical: a Berber dinner at the camp under a starry sky.

Day 3: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

We start the day watching the sunrise in the desert before returning by camel for a refreshing wash. In Erfoud we see the craft of working fossilised marble. The route continues between palm groves to the impressive Todra Gorges, where we go for a walk. We spend the night in a cosy hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley → Valley of Roses → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech

We start with a morning walk through the gorges before heading to Marrakech. We pass the charming Valley of Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. After lunch in the village of Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), we cross the High Atlas via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m), arriving in Marrakech late in the afternoon.

Amazing experience in Marrakech and Sahara Desert/Amazing experience in Marrakech and Sahara Desert I would like to share here a travel experience I had in Morocco (Marrakech/Merzouga-Sahara) at the beginning of June now (2024). I decided after researching a lot of other reviews here and on Google, as I wanted to do the desert and Marrakech. I closed a package with the guide Mohamed. Despite speaking English, I found the opportunity to have a Portuguese-speaking guide in Morocco interesting. We closed a 4-day package for me and my daughter. From the moment we landed, Mohamed was there to protect and guide us. The tour was private in a 4x4 car, prepared for the desert. On the first day we stayed in a beautiful, fragrant, first-class Riad, inside the Medina. In fact, every day the hotels/Riads/tent in the desert were luxurious. Mohamed protected us from everything (the tourist cities in Morocco have a lot of people asking for money and wanting to sell you things for exorbitant prices). We participated in a caravan in the Sahara with dromedaries heading to the tents. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! The guide Mohamed met everything we asked for, everything we wanted, in our time. Mohamed speaks Arabic, Berebre (language of the desert people), Spanish, Portuguese and English and a little French. He sang desert songs to the sound of drums with other natives and was always paying attention to us. As we were two women alone, we were afraid, but the guide (who is passionate about Brazil) was our salvation! It's really worth signing up with someone trustworthy like Mohamed. These cheap day trips from Marrakech to the desert are crazy! There is a lot to see and experience, Morocco is very big!! Imagine being in a slow van full of people??!! Look... Ask Mohamed to take you to restaurants outside the tourist attractions. The experience becomes much more real and cheaper outside of tourist restaurants that only serve chicken: the small restaurants that Mohamed knows are typically Moroccan, very well served with bread, goat tagine with incredible sauce) much cheaper for three people versus the price of the tourist ones whose price per person (starter, chicken dish and side dish) is almost the value of the non-tourist ones for three. Best investment I've made in recent years. Thank you, Mohamed, for everything! Our tour ended today, 06/08, unfortunately. Tomorrow we will go for a hot air balloon ride (all arranged by Mohamed). We are very grateful for the patience, concern and education of this friendly Berebere. I recommend it with my eyes closed. You can trust Mohamed. I paid for everything in advance (06/05 to 06/09/2024) and Mohamed arranged all our stays, tours, purchases (only advice: prefer to buy turbans and dresses, Moroccan oil, drinks and bottled water in Marrakech, it's much more affordable. Mohamed has become a dear friend and we want to welcome him to Brazil, as it's a dream of his. You can trust him, because I think it's SO WORTH IT!!
