Mohamed, Amazigh guide from Marrocos Passeios

    About me

My name is Mohamed, I am Amazigh (Berber), and I come from a region where hospitality, traditions and respect for visitors are part of our identity. I grew up getting to know Moroccan culture up close, the customs of local communities and the stories that make each region of Morocco so special.

Over the years, my passion for meeting people and sharing the richness of my country led me to build my career in tourism. Working as a guide and organising trips, I realised that knowing Morocco goes far beyond visiting monuments and landscapes: it means discovering its culture, connecting with its people and living truly unique moments.

It was with this vision that Marrocos Passeios was born, a project created to offer private trips, personalised experiences and close, family-style service. My goal is for every traveller to discover Morocco in an authentic way, with comfort, confidence and freedom to enjoy every moment.

For me, every trip is an opportunity to share a little of our history, our roots and the hospitality that makes Morocco an unforgettable destination.

Overview of the 4 Days from Marrakech:

This 4-day itinerary from Marrakech was carefully designed to take you from the bustling souks of Marrakech to the majestic Sahara dunes, passing through imperial cities, lush valleys and Berber villages hidden in the mountains.

    Duration: 4 days / 3 nights
Route: Marrakech → Dades → Merzouga desert → Fez

    ITINERARY: 4 Days from Marrakech

4 Days from Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech → Dades Valley (Crossing the High Atlas)

We start our journey early, leaving Marrakech towards the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m). On the way you will see impressive views of the High Atlas mountains and small Berber villages. Our first strategic stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou ksar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will have lunch.

In the afternoon we continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the charming Dades Valley. Here you will be amazed by the rock formations known as the “monkey fingers”. Overnight in a charming hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)

After breakfast we head to the impressive Todra Gorges, a paradise for climbers with their 300-metre vertical walls. After exploring the site, we continue our journey to the desert, passing picturesque Berber villages and palm oases.

On arrival in Merzouga the Sahara adventure begins! We will ride camels on an unforgettable sunset trip through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. At night, a luxury desert camp with a traditional dinner and Berber music under a starry sky.

Day 3: Merzouga → Midelt (Crossing the Ziz Valley)

We wake before dawn to admire the spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, we set off north, passing the impressive Ziz Valley with its vast palm groves.

We stop in Erfoud, known as the fossil capital, before continuing to Midelt, located between the High and Middle Atlas mountains. Overnight in Midelt, known for its delicious apple products.

Day 4: Midelt → Fez (Cedar Forest and Ifrane)

Our last day of travel takes us through the Middle Atlas mountains. We stop at the Azrou cedar forest, where we may see the famous Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

We continue through Ifrane, nicknamed the “Moroccan Switzerland” for its alpine architecture. Arriving in Fez late in the afternoon, you will have time to rest before exploring the imperial city the next day.

Amazing experience in Marrakech and Sahara Desert/Amazing experience in Marrakech and Sahara Desert I would like to share here a travel experience I had in Morocco (Marrakech/Merzouga-Sahara) at the beginning of June now (2024). I decided after researching a lot of other reviews here and on Google, as I wanted to do the desert and Marrakech. I closed a package with the guide Mohamed. Despite speaking English, I found the opportunity to have a Portuguese-speaking guide in Morocco interesting. We closed a 4-day package for me and my daughter. From the moment we landed, Mohamed was there to protect and guide us. The tour was private in a 4x4 car, prepared for the desert. On the first day we stayed in a beautiful, fragrant, first-class Riad, inside the Medina. In fact, every day the hotels/Riads/tent in the desert were luxurious. Mohamed protected us from everything (the tourist cities in Morocco have a lot of people asking for money and wanting to sell you things for exorbitant prices). We participated in a caravan in the Sahara with dromedaries heading to the tents. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! The guide Mohamed met everything we asked for, everything we wanted, in our time. Mohamed speaks Arabic, Berebre (language of the desert people), Spanish, Portuguese and English and a little French. He sang desert songs to the sound of drums with other natives and was always paying attention to us. As we were two women alone, we were afraid, but the guide (who is passionate about Brazil) was our salvation! It's really worth signing up with someone trustworthy like Mohamed. These cheap day trips from Marrakech to the desert are crazy! There is a lot to see and experience, Morocco is very big!! Imagine being in a slow van full of people??!! Look... Ask Mohamed to take you to restaurants outside the tourist attractions. The experience becomes much more real and cheaper outside of tourist restaurants that only serve chicken: the small restaurants that Mohamed knows are typically Moroccan, very well served with bread, goat tagine with incredible sauce) much cheaper for three people versus the price of the tourist ones whose price per person (starter, chicken dish and side dish) is almost the value of the non-tourist ones for three. Best investment I've made in recent years. Thank you, Mohamed, for everything! Our tour ended today, 06/08, unfortunately. Tomorrow we will go for a hot air balloon ride (all arranged by Mohamed). We are very grateful for the patience, concern and education of this friendly Berebere. I recommend it with my eyes closed. You can trust Mohamed. I paid for everything in advance (06/05 to 06/09/2024) and Mohamed arranged all our stays, tours, purchases (only advice: prefer to buy turbans and dresses, Moroccan oil, drinks and bottled water in Marrakech, it's much more affordable. Mohamed has become a dear friend and we want to welcome him to Brazil, as it's a dream of his. You can trust him, because I think it's SO WORTH IT!!
